ECLIPSES AND CELESTIAL INFORMATION
Just like humans, fish and other animals are afffected by the sun and moon.
Sunset is the time that the animals return to safe resting places. Birds return to their mangrove roosts, a rookery. Fall and winter is best for viewing birds. Many birds have colorful displays for courtship. The Keys has the very best sunsets in the world.
At night, full moon is the best time to cruise around the bay enjoying the reflections of white light shimmering on the water. During the day, low tides are extremely low during a full moon. We can collect many sea "critters" at that time by wading around in the shallows.
New moon (no moon) is a great time for catching lobsters by bully net and shrimp by dip net as you can see the reflections of their eyes when you shine a flashlight their way. And it is also the best time to view constellations and planets.
